Hello Loves! We cannot believe that summer has officially ended. Though we would be lying if we didn't admit our excitement for all the upcoming fall fashion trends. While many of us in North America are bundling up for the cooler temperatures, things are just starting to heat up for our neighbors in South America, especially in Brazil. We are extremely excited to share our recent conversation with one of our long time collaborators, Lindsay Woods! Lindsay has such a versatile style and personality, which we absolutely adore. In any case, let's dive into our chat with The Lindsay Woods! We hope you enjoy.
WHEN AND HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN? WHAT GOT YOU MOTIVATED TO EMBARK ON BEING AN INFLUENCER?
Well, I started when I was a teenager, I was 15 years old and I became "popular" in some social networks like Fotolog and Orkut, because of my photos. There's several fake accounts of mine everywhere, it was funny haha but I never imagined that I could work with it one day. I love creating and inspiring people with my style, being an influence for people to be stronger too. But sometimes I'm afraid to inspire my followers to do wrong things, because I do, I'm human. Being a digital influencer is not easy as it seems, especially for me that I'm always "kicking the bucket" and share what I think.
TO GET TO KNOW YOU ON A MORE FUN AND PERSONAL LEVEL, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE, FOOD/DRINK, PLACE, BOOK, AND COLOR?
I really like crazy movies, I love adrenaline. One of my favorite movies is Party Monster, because they don't give a shit about anything, they know how to have fun like no one else and they enjoy the life like it's the last day hahah. I love burger (mc donalds) and "açaí". My favorite place is certainly Los Angeles, I went there in January and, omg, I love that place, I love everything about that place. My favorite book is Girl Interrupted, because it talks about a woman who suffers from Borderline disorder, and I also deal with it. My favorite color is black, but sometimes red, pink hahah!
EVERYONE HAS THAT ONE ACCESSORY THEY'RE ATTACHED TO- WHAT'S ONE WARDROBE ESSENTIAL YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT?
Can I choose two? I can't live without sunglasses and bags!
IT’S SAID THAT A PHOTO SPEAKS A THOUSAND WORDS. AN INFLUENCER IS LARGELY BASED ON THE GREAT PHOTOS THEY PROVIDE FOR THEIR FOLLOWERS, AND AN IMPORTANT ASPECT OF THAT IS CHOOSING THE RIGHT PHOTOGRAPHER. HOW DID YOU AND YOUR PHOTOGRAPHERS MEET?
Honestly, I prefer to make my own photos with my camera and tripod, I don't have one photographer, you know? But sometimes my best friend, Lua Morales, does this, she knows what I like and she helps me a lot! She's a great photographer and she is the best!
FOLLOWING UP ON THE PREVIOUS QUESTION, DO YOU AND YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER BALANCE EACH OUT OUT? HOW IT YOUR DYNAMIC WHEN SHOOTING?
I like working with angles, as I'm small, I always try to make photos from the bottom up, and that's great! My fans find it funny when they see me in person, and I always hear "oh my god, you're so small", It's really funny.
BEING AN INFLUENCER DEFINITELY REQUIRES A LOT OF TIME AND DEDICATION. HAS IT IN ANY WAY AFFECTED YOUR CAREER? HAS IT LEAD YOU IN A NEW DIRECTION IN LIFE?
This has brought me a lot more good things than bad things in my entire career. I have a collection of lipsticks signed by me with T.blogs, and I love it, I'll have some other collections soon as well, and dude, I've never in my life imagined that this was possible! I love what my job gives me. I was the worst student in the school and a troubled child, it's amazing to imagine how things have changed hahaha.
WE CAN’T HELP BUT NOTICE THE AMAZING, POSITIVE ENERGY THAT LIGHTS UP YOUR PAGE. WHAT MOTIVATES OR INSPIRES YOU TO PRESENT THE HAPPY HEART AND OPTIMISM YOU HOLD?
Well, thanks for that! hahah I always try to inspire people in positive ways, I want to inspire people to be strong and "badass", I want to change the world in some way, that is my purpose. In my YouTube channel I talk about my personal life and my problems too, I want to people know that, as I'm an influencer, I'm also human and I have problems like all of them, and sharing this with the world can inspire them in some way to be better, to all help themselves, you know?
LASTLY, THERE ARE SO MANY UP AND COMING INFLUENCERS LOOKING TO MAKE THEIR BREAK IN THE SOCIAL MEDIA WORLD., WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE THE NEXT GENERATION OF YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHY SEEKING INFLUENCERS?
I always say that people BE original and have your own personality. Be yourself, don't care about people think about you. You can be inspired by those you admire, but never copy someone's work. You're great the way you are, work to be your best, always, and never let anyone put you down. Never try to let someone down too, it will not make you better. Be transparent and sincere with the others. Be the change you wish to see in the world. Well, that's the way I got here so I think it works hahah.
